Outagamie (pronounced /ˌaʊtəˈɡæmi/) is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population was 160,971. It is included in the Appleton, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its county seat is Appleton, Wisconsin. The name "Outagamie" was the Anishinaabe term for the Meskwaki (Fox) Indians.
